Leafy Seadragon Photography Tours

digital DSC_0186 (Medium)The leafy sea dragon (Phycodurus Eques) is endemic to the waters of southern Australia and are closely related to seahorses and pipefish.  The leafy sea dragon is the South Australian Marine Emblem and they get their name from the leaf-like appendages on their bodies. They resemble pieces of seaweed, which makes them difficult for predators to find in their natural habitat of kelp and seaweed. Leafies are generally brown to yellow in body color with spec-tacular olive-tinted appendages. As an adult they can reach a total length of 35 centimeters. The tours are suitable for all underwater photographers, from beginners to professionals.

The PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course helps student divers develop the knowledge, skills and practical techniques necessary to obtain excellent photographs with a digital camera, even on their first photo dive. It is a hands on materials-driven course which guides students in achieving good results easily, even if they’ve never used a digital camera before. It is designed as an introduction to course skills and knowledge. Students learn what equipment they need to take great underwater photographs, how to prepare their underwater photo system, and basic underwater photo techniques while diving in an environmentally friendly manner. Students learn how to make their photographs even better. It covers what they need to know about file formats, resolution settings, making their images lighter or darker, getting good colour, composing their photo, downloading photographs into their computer and adjusting them to look their best.
